SUMMARY LEADERSHIP FIELD NOTES

Your strengths do not work the same way in every leadership role.

Leadership performance depends on fit. The Four A framework tests the leader against the arena, then asks what adaptation would change.

One useful field note every month.

Each issue gives you a clear leadership idea to test against the work in front of you.

THE FOUR A'S

A practical way to read leadership fit.

Each issue examines how four variables combine to shape performance.

Athlete

The leader’s strengths, habits, experience, and current capacity.

Arena

The role’s demands, constraints, pace, and unwritten rules.

Alignment

The degree of fit between the leader and the work the arena requires.

Adaptation

The changes that improve fit without turning the leader into someone else.

THE FOUR C'S

Name the arena before you judge the leader.

The same capability can help in one arena and create friction in another.

Chaotic

Order is weak, priorities move quickly, and immediate stabilization matters.

Crucible

Pressure is high, consequences are visible, and execution is tested.

Clouded

Direction is unclear, information is incomplete, and interpretation matters.

Cultivated

Systems are established, expectations are clearer, and stewardship matters.

Name the arena before you decide what the leader needs.
